DLRG Ortsgruppe Oelde e.V.
Our website offers a wide range of information, which is prepared for all interested parties.
We are the world's largest water rescue organization!
The 1.7 million members and sponsors of the DLRG are just one of many reasons.
The DLRG was founded in Leipzig in 1913 to save people from drowning.
Since 1950, we have had 22.7 million people pass their swimming exams and nearly five million people have taken their lifeguard exams.
Our volunteer members put in around six million hours a year. That corresponds to over 684 years of voluntary work!
Our most important tasks are:
Swimming- and lifeguard-training
Education about water hazards and
water rescue service.
Training in safe swimming for children and adults. Furthermore, we impart knowledge about self-rescue and external rescue.
For anyone who wants to learn to swim from scratch and/or deepen existing knowledge.
We train every friday, in summer at the Oelde outdoor pool and in winter at the Oelde indoor pool.
